— Old School Market, former Rote Elementary, at East End Mountain Road, Mill Hall, is open each Friday from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m.

— KBR Bingo and More’s straight line Bingo each Friday night at 6:30 p.m. Doors open at 4:30 p.m. Regular game payouts are $50! Come join the fun! KBR Bingo is located in the Piper Museum Building with elevator service to the 3rd floor Bingo hall. Call Deb at 570-660-2647 for info.

— Leadership Clinton County is having a Wisecrackers Comedy Night at Haywoods on the Green beginning at 8 p.m. Tickets are $20 per person. Cash bar and appetizers will be available for purchase.

— The Marsh Creek Brotherhood Park and the Pleasant Valley Ladies Aid Society are holding a Yard Sale to dispose of the contents in the Brotherhood Park building. The liquidation sale will be held from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. The building contents include banquet/meal preparation items, plates, serving bowls, cups, coffee pots, pots and pans, a large mixer, tables and chairs and numerous kitchen-related items. In addition, there are 500+ canning jars that will be sold along with some butchering tools and supplies. Brotherhood Park is located along Richner Hollow Road in the Little Marsh Creek area of rural Howard. For more info on the yard sale call Mary at 814-355-9580.

Saturday, Jan. 24

— Hublersburg Cemetery Association will have their annual meeting at 10 a.m. at the Walker Township Municipal Building. All lot owners and those interested in the well-being of the cemetery are encouraged to attend. For more info call Chuck at 814-383-4092.

— Old School Market, former Rote Elementary, at East End Mountain Road, Mill Hall, will have a book auction starting at 7:30 a.m. More than 1,100 books will be sold!

— Second annual PA Chestnut Festival, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., at Castanea Firemen’s Picnic Grounds Building, 859 Lower Creek Road, Piper Memorial Airport, Lock Haven. The free admission festival will honor the chestnut tree heritage and the naming of Castanea for the chestnut. The event featured chestnut based foods and beverages, more than 30 vendors, exhibitors, a portable ice rink, LION mobile health screenings, live music and more! The Polka Family Band will perform from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the party tent. Anchor & Arrow Duo will perform in the party tent from 2-4 p.m. Craft brews will be sold by Floating Feathers Brewing Co. and Elk Creek Cafe and Ale Works. Oregon Hill Winery will offer favorite wines as well.

Food options will include WETSU Catering, Farmstead Fusion and Mama Martina’s Authentic Mexican Food Truck. Roasted chestnuts are being sold by the recreation committee, and Cub Scout Pack 66 will be selling s’mores. Visit www.castaneatownshippa.gov for more info.

— Back Porch String Band’s County Jam at the Howard fire hall is being CANCELLED because of the impending weather condition. Call Connie at 814-625-2724 for info on the band or Country Jam.

— Jersey Shore American Legion Unit 36 Auxiliary is hosting a cash Bingo at 320 Seminary St., Jersey Shore. Tickets are $25 in advance or $30 at the door. Only 100 tickets available. Doors will open at 11 a.m., Bingo starts at 1 p.m. There will be refreshments available to purchase. No outside food or drinks allowed.

— KBR Bingo will hold a benefit for Angelo Caprio in his fight against liver cancer. Doors open at 11 a.m. and Bingo starts at 1 p.m. In addition to Bingo, there’s a basket raffle, rip tickets and good food! Tickets are $25 and available at the door.
