Free new boots, shoes at the Shoe Bank

LOCK HAVEN — The Shoe Bank will be open Saturday, Jan. 17. Eligible kids and teens may choose a pair of new boots, plus a pair of new shoes, new socks, books and warm winter accessories. Everything is free.
Kids can choose from a good selection of shoes and winter boots.
The Shoe Bank is inside Covenant United Methodist Church, 44 W. Main St., Lock Haven, and is generally open one Saturday a month from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. Appointments are required.
The 2026 dates are:
— Jan. 17
— Feb. 21
— March 21
— April 18
— May 16
— Aug. 15 and Aug. 22
— Sept. 19,
— Oct. 17,
— Nov. 14 and Nov. 21
— Dec. 12.
These dates are subject to change.
The Shoe Bank serves little ones through high school teens whose families have Compass and live anywhere in Clinton County or the Liberty-Curtin School attendance area. Families who don’t have Compass may be referred by an agency, church or other organization.

If you are ill or can’t keep your appointment for any other reason, please call to reschedule. They do keep a waiting list.
Funding is provided by the Clinton County Community Foundation, the M&T Bank Charitable Foundation, churches, civic groups and individual donors.
The Shoe Bank is an all-volunteer organization. Anyone interested in lending a hand is welcome to check it out. More volunteers are needed for the Saturdays the Shoe Bank is open and for Thursday afternoon work sessions. The Shoe Bank is also looking for people who might be able to step in at late notice when a regular volunteer is not available.
