Valentine’s

Dinner

Sugar Valley Fire Company is having a Valentine’s Day Wedding Meal Buffet on Saturday, Feb. 14, from 3-6:30 p.m. The Sweetheart Dinner will feature roasted chicken with stuffing, mashed potatoes and gravy, creamed celery, coleslaw, noodles, pies, donuts and ice cream and drinks. The cost is $20 for adults and $12 for children ages 6-12 years. Younger children can eat for free. Take-out meals will also be available. Class of 1955

Members of the LHHS Class of 1955 will hold a luncheon on Feb. 25 at noon at Fox’s Restaurant. All classmates and guests are welcome.

Free, new

sneakers

The Lock Haven Area Shoe Bank will give free new boots as well as free new sneakers or shoes to eligible kids and teens Saturday, Feb. 21. Eligible families live in Clinton County or the Liberty-Curtin School area and have Compass or a referral. The Shoe Bank is inside Covenant United Methodist Church, 44 W. Main St., Lock Haven. Appointments are required and available from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. To get yours, contact Diahann at 1-814-571-5324, any weeknight 7-9 p.m.

Golden Axe Benefit

A benefit will be held at The Golden Axe in Lock Haven on Saturday, Feb. 21, for Mike Neff. Neff has undergone a liver transplant and hasn’t been able to work since June. A Scottish Doubles Pool tournament is planned to start at noon with registration beginning at 11 a.m. Cost is $30 for each team. Also included will be darts, Cornhole, 50/50 and a basket raffle.

Donations of baskets and prizes are needed as well as donations of food for the event. Proceeds from the event will help Mike to pay for anti-rejection medicines and travel expenses for returning to John Hopkins in Baltimore every 10 days for check-ups.

Homemade donuts sale

Trinity United Methodist Church, 1407 Allegheny St., Jersey Shore, will hold its fresh, homemade donut sale on Thursday, Feb. 19. Preorders can be made by calling 570-398-2913 Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Extra donuts will be available for walk-ins starting at 7 a.m. until 3 p.m. or sold out. Cost is $8 per dozen or $4 for a half dozen. Please use the Glover Street entrance.
