A breakfast and bake sale to benefit Ben Stoltzfus and his family will be held on Saturday, March 21, from 7-11 a.m., at the Porter Township Community Building, the old Lamar Elementary School, located at 216 Spring Run Road, Mill Hall. Ben, the former fire chief at Nittany Valley Fire Co., is battling cancer and hasn't been able to work for the past year.

Donations of baked goods are needed as well as volunteers to help in the kitchen during the breakfast.

Breakfast meals will be $13 for adults; $6 for children 6-12 and free for little tykes. Call Nancy at 814-571-5168 to donate or help!

St. Luke's United Church of Christ in Flemington will be holding a soup sale Saturday, March 7, from 10 a.m. to noon. Soups being offered are chicken corn, vegetable beef and ham and bean. The soup is $8 a quart and may be picked up at the church on March 7. Orders may be placed by calling the church office, on or before March 1, at 570-748-5741 and leave a message on the message machine.

A resolution

Would becoming a Shoe Bank volunteer fit in with any of your New Year's resolutions? The Lock Haven Area Shoe Bank is usually open one Saturday a month, when we have the fun of giving free new shoes to kids and teens. We are looking for more volunteers, including people we can call when we are shorthanded. If you'd like to volunteer or have questions, please text or call Wendy at 570-295-3443.

SVRCS Senior Socials

SVRCS's Senior Socials have returned for the 2025-2026 school year. All seniors are welcome to join the second Friday of each month during March and April. Senior Social is not held in February.
