Centre Conservation District accepting applications for $1K scholarship
BELLEFONTE — The Centre County Conservation District is now accepting applications for its Soil Health Scholarship.
The Conservation District helps the local community develop and strengthen a sustainable relationship with its natural resources.
True to that aim, the Centre County Conservation District Soil Health Scholarship provides financial assistance — $1,000 — to a graduating senior attending a Centre County high school who plans to pursue a degree in Agriculture, Natural Resources, Environmental Science or a related field with an interest in soil health.
High school seniors who are interested and eligible can find the application form on the Conservation District’s website: centrecountypa.gov/200/Conservation-District.
To apply, students will fill out a form, which includes two short essay questions, up to 250 words and 500 words, respectively. Students are asked to briefly describe their career goals and discuss the importance of soil health.
Completed applications should be emailed to Jim Coslo, Director of Centre County
Conservation District (jrcoslo@centrecountypa.gov) no later than March 6, 2026.
Questions about the application process can be directed to Jim Coslo or the Conservation District’s Nutrient Management Technician, Devyn McPheeters (ddmcpheeters@centrecountypa.gov), or you can call the office at 814-355-6817.
