WINGATE — Wingate Faith Church hosted an appreciation luncheon for teachers and staff in the Bald Eagle Area School District on Friday, Feb. 13. This was the eighth year that the church has provided the complimentary meal to BEA educators. About 140 teachers and staff attended the Appreciation Luncheon that was held on a day the students were off school and the educators were observing an Act 80 (teacher’s training) Day.
Congregation members served the educators a lunch of pulled pork and meatball sandwiches, macaroni and cheese, scalloped potatoes, baked beans, tossed salad and an assortment of homemade desserts.
Children who attend Wingate Faith Church were also at the luncheon to take part in welcoming their teachers as greeters.
“We are truly grateful for the dedicated teachers and staff at Bald Eagle Area! These remarkable individuals are making a profound impact every day in our community! Our church is privileged to express our heartfelt appreciation by treating these educators to a buffet lunch,” said Janette Moore, the church’s Outreach Team Leader.
Proverbs 22:6 (NIV): “Start children off on the way they should go, and even when they are old they will not turn from it.”
