Celebrate Small Business Development Center Day at Nittany Valley Holistic Health on March 18

MILL HALL — Community members across Centre, Clinton, Lycoming and Mifflin counties are invited to celebrate the power of small business during National SBDC Day on Tuesday, March 18, from 1-3 p.m.

Hosted by the Penn State Small Business Development Center (SBDC), the event will spotlight Nittany Valley Holistic Health — a multi-service, collaborative wellness space that supports both whole-person care and entrepreneurial growth.

National SBDC Day is a nationwide celebration recognizing the impact of America’s Small Business Development Centers on local economies and business success. This year’s event offers attendees the opportunity to see that impact firsthand, organizers said.

Guests will receive an inside look at the diverse, wellness-focused businesses that call Nittany Valley Holistic Health home, including SBDC clients Sport and Spine Chiropractic Rehab, Jennifer Walker LCSW, LLC and A Journey to Here, along with additional providers offering massage therapy, performance training, yoga, aesthetics and more, they added.

Attendees will be able to:

— Explore the collaborative wellness space.

— Meet the professionals and entrepreneurs behind the businesses.

— Learn how SBDC consulting and resources supported their growth.

— Connect with fellow community members who champion local business.

Representatives from both state and local government will also be in attendance to voice their support for small businesses across the region.

“We are excited to have community members join us as we celebrate small business success and the power of community partnerships with Nittany Valley Holistic Health,” said Tim Keohane, director of the Penn State SBDC. “The practitioners that make up this wellness community exemplify how hard work, paired with access to business resources, can create meaningful impact for their clients.”

The Penn State SBDC provides no-cost, confidential consulting to entrepreneurs and small business owners, along with educational workshops, referrals to partner organizations and strategic guidance to help businesses launch and grow.

In 2025, the center served more than 940 clients across Centre, Clinton, Lycoming and Mifflin counties, helped start 32 new businesses, supported the creation of 139 jobs and assisted clients in raising $8.7 million in capital.

These results underscore the continued strength and resilience of Pennsylvania’s small business community, the SBDC said.

Community members interested in attending the March 18 event can register on the event page. Small business owners seeking free, confidential, one-on-one consulting and educational seminars are encouraged to visit the Penn State SBDC website, www.sbdc.psu.edu, to learn more.
