Central Mountain senior named top performer by TOB TIA
PHOTO PROVIDED On Saturday, March 14, Central Mountain High School senior Connor Kleckner earned the TOB TIA Region 4 Performer of the Week award.
MILL HALL — On Saturday, March 14, Connor Kleckner, a senior from Central Mountain High School, earned the TOB TIA Region 4 Performer of the Week award at the Music in Motion competition hosted by Southern Tioga Indoor Booster Club, held at Williamson High School. The Performer of the Week is awarded to an Outstanding Region 4 member. This award is sponsored by Marching Links.com.
The Performer of the Week award is given to an individual that shows outstanding showmanship and a commitment to excellence to their team in their competitive spirit.
Connor has been a member of the Central Mountain Indoor Colorguard for five years and the Central Mountain Indoor Majorettes for four years.
Connor said, “five years ago when I joined colorguard, I saw this award presented at a Region 4 competition. It was then I made it a goal to always work hard, do my best every show and improve from the week prior, so that I might earn this award.”
Connor also says, “indoor has become such a big part of my life and I can only thank the people who have been with me through my journey, my family, my team and my coaches Sunshine Kustaborder, Stephanie Wilson, Stephanie Ford and Shelly Darby. Thank you for always being there to push me and support me, if it wasn’t for you, I wouldn’t be the performer I am today. Connor dedicated his Performer of the Week to his family, coaches and teammates who are always there to help him. Colorguard earned first place with a score of 75.65, Majorettes earned first place with a score of 69.40.”
Connor will never forget his time with Central Mountain Indoor Colorguard and Majorettes and the Central Mountain Marching Band.
Connor will be attending Commonwealth University- Bloomsburg majoring in Bachelor of Arts Integrated Theatre and will be trying out for the Bloomsburg Huskies Marching Band as a Colorguard and Twirler.
