On March 15, 1826 Jersey Shore was officially incorporated. Two hundred years later, Mayor Lon Myers worked with a committee to celebrate the day. A crowd gathered in the Independent Company Hose Co. 1 building on Pennsylvania Avenue.

On March 15, dozens of Jersey Shore Borough residents, local, state and federal officials gathered to celebrate a major milestone for the municipality — its 200th birthday. The event featured cake, balloons and saw many speak about the significance of the bicentennial.
