Nestlerode named February BPW Student of the Month

LILA NESTLERODE

JERSEY SHORE — Lila Grace Nestlerode, daughter of Megan Miller, of Jersey Shore, has been selected as the February Business and Professional Women Student of the Month at Jersey Shore Area Senior High School. Lila is recognized for her academic excellence, athletic dedication, leadership and commitment to service.

Throughout her high school career, Lila has been actively involved in athletics and numerous school organizations.

As a freshman, she participated in cheerleading and swimming.

During her sophomore year, she continued cheerleading and swimming while also competing in track and field and joining Key Club.

In her junior year, Lila focused on swimming while becoming involved in the National Art Honor Society, Spanish Honor Society, Red Cross Club and Pep Club.

As a senior, she continues her involvement in swimming and is active in National Art Honor Society, Spanish Honor Society, English Honor Society, National Honor Society, Key Club, Red Cross Club, Pep Club and YDTF.

Lila has demonstrated strong leadership, serving as the Swim Team Captain and Treasurer of both Pep Club and Spanish Honor Society during her senior year. Her commitment to athletics is evident through earning athletic letters in swimming and cheerleading during her freshman and sophomore years, and in swimming during her junior year.

Outside of school, Lila has worked as a lifeguard at the Jersey Shore Public Pool during the summers following her sophomore and junior years and is currently a lifeguard at the Lock Haven YMCA. She also serves as a swim coach, further sharing her passion for the sport and mentoring younger swimmers.

In her free time, Lila enjoys art, swimming, cooking and hanging out with friends.

After graduation, she plans to attend Misericordia University to continue swimming and to major in biology while completing her teaching certifications and requirements.

Lila’s leadership, academic dedication and commitment to service make her a deserving recipient of the February Business and Professional Women Student of the Month honor.
