Yard and Bake Sale
St. Luke’s United Church of Christ at 1175 W. Fourth St., Flemington, will be holding a large, indoor Yard and Bake Sale on Friday, May 1, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. The bake sale will feature yummy cakes, cookies and other mouth watering foods. Lunch will be served and may be eaten in or taken out. For lunch will be vegetable beef soup, hot dogs, chili dogs, kraut dogs and hamburger barbecues. Soup can also be bought to take home for $8 a quart.
Bargains and Blessings
Bargains and Blessings Community Closet will be open on Saturday, May 2, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., at Faith Chapel United Methodist Church, 551 Hunter Run Road, Howard. Gently used, good quality clothing, shoes and accessories for the entire family are available. Sizes range from infants to 3X and are priced at $5 per bag full. Bags will be provided. Helping Hands
Helping Hands will be open on Wednesday, May 20, from 6-7:30 p.m., at the United Evangelical Lutheran Church, behind Kentucky Fried Chicken, in Lock Haven. Helping Hands provides free cleaning supplies and personal hygiene items to low income families and seniors in the Lock Haven and surrounding area. Helping Hands is usually open the third Wednesday of each month. For more information about the Helping Hands program, call Kelly at 272-209-5912.

Don’t forget about the pets! Our pets give us unconditional love and trust, and we owe them nothing less in return. In honor of your loving pets at home, please consider supporting Help for Pets, a 501c3 non-profit organization right here in Clinton County whose mission is to provide interest-free loans to pet owners to allow for urgent treatment of their pets to prevent unnecessary euthanasia. TOPS
TOPS (Take Off Pounds Sensibly) is looking for interested participants and guest speakers. Weigh-ins are from 4:30-5 p.m. each Monday afternoon, followed by the business meeting at 5 p.m. TOPS is held at the Flemington First Church of Christ, 714 Canal St., Mill Hall. Guest speakers are being sought to give a 15-20 minute presentation (or demonstration) on nutrition, forms of exercising or other healthy habits during the meetings.
