TODAY

— Marion Township Supervisors meeting, 6:30 p.m., at the township building in Jacksonville. Residents are encouraged to attend!

TOMORROW

— Food distribution will be from 4-6 p.m., at St. John’s Lutheran Church, 216 McAllister St., Bellefonte. There aren’t any income guidelines but a few questions are asked for those attending for the first time. Normally the distribution is held on the first Thursday of each month, but because of Holy Week this year, the distribution was moved. For more info on these food distributions, call Leilani “Loni” at 814-548-7835.

— Legislative Luncheon will be held at noon at the Masonic Temple in Lock Haven. You’ll have an opportunity to meet with and discuss situations with county commissioners, state representatives and senators as well as congressmen during the luncheon. Cost is $25 for Clinton County Economic Partnership members or $30 for non-members.

— Milesburg Lions Bingo every Thursday night at the Milesburg Community Center. Doors open at 5 p.m. and Bingo starts at 6:45 p.m. (put this in more weeks ahead)

— BEN Class of 1961 will hold a luncheon and reunion meeting at 11:30 a.m. at Haywoods. All classmates and guests are invited!

FRIDAY

— Kent’s Fest Celebration, 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., at CU-LH East Campus Gym.

— Old School Market, former Rote Elementary, at East End Mountain Road, Mill Hall, is open each Friday from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. There will also be a Grocery Auction beginning at 5 p.m.

— KBR Bingo and More’s straight line Bingo each Friday night at 6:30 p.m. Doors open at 4:30 p.m. Regular game payouts are $50! Come join the fun! KBR Bingo is located in the Piper Museum Building with elevator service to the 3rd floor Bingo hall. Call Deb at 570-660-2647 for info.

SATURDAY

— Millheim Fire Company’s Annual Gun Raffle, at the fire station grounds. Tickets are $10 each or 3/$20.

— The Annual Kettle Creek Valley Outdoor and Craft Show will be held from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Kettle Creek Hose Company in Cross Fork. A variety of local craft and outdoor related vendors and non-profits will be represented. Entrance is by donation. All proceeds from the show go to the Kettle Creek Hose Company and the Kettle Creek Ambulance Association.

— KBR Bingo benefit to help Woolrich Little League. Doors open at 11 a.m. and Bingo starts at 1 p.m. In addition to Bingo and good food, there will be a basket raffle, 50/50, rip tickets and more! — Centre Ballroom Dancing at Lambert Hall in Bellefonte from 2-5 p.m. Cost is $10/person. Zupe will tickle the ivories during the afternoon. Bring a snack to share with others there.

MONDAY

— Wingate Faith Church’s Pot Pie Sale, 4 p.m. until gone, at the church. Ham or chicken pot pie is sold by the quart for $9. Pot pie comes in freezable containers. Pre-orders are recommended by calling 814-883-0893.

— Dunnstown Fire Company offers a Cash Bingo every Monday night at the fire station at 119 Woodward Ave., Lock Haven. Bingo starts at 6 p.m. and all proceeds help to support the fire company’s needs.

— Cash Bingo will be held at St. John’s Catholic School, 116 E. Bishop St., Bellefonte, to benefit the Bellefonte Knights of Columbus. Doors will be open to the public for food, plenty of homemade baked goods and dinner items, and small games of chance at 6 p.m., with Bingo starting at 7 p.m. The cost to play is $20 for 20 games, and the payouts will be $850 each month. The school is a smoke-free facility and walk-ins are welcome to come to play Bingo.

— The award-winning international documentary Children in the Fire will be shown at 6:30 p.m., in the Hamblin Hall of Flags, Robinson Hall, on the campus of Commonwealth University-Lock Haven. The free viewing of the live action and animated film tells the story of living through the Ukraine War through the children’s eyes. This film aims to raise global awareness of the impact of the war on the children, whose lives are impacted in many ways. The film will provide viewers with an understanding of the experiences of Ukrainian children with an emphasis upon hope, resiliency and survival. The viewing is free for the public and will feature a brief Zoom discussion with Academy Award nominated director Evgeny Afineevsky following the film.

Dr. Rick Schulze, Retired Professor, CU-Lock Haven, taught in Eastern Ukraine at Lugansk State Medical University and has made it his mission to educate Americans about the impact of war upon Ukraine and its people. Professionals who work with children such as teachers, day care personnel, social workers and others will find the film applicable to their fields. Families will find it appropriate viewing material.
