Conservation district to hold tree sale, plant shopping days through April 25

MILL HALL — The Clinton County Conservation District is having its annual tree sale from now through April 25.

This year the district will have “shopping” days instead of doing pre-orders again. The trees and shrubs listed below will be available on a first-come, first-serve basis only, no pre-orders will be taken. This year you will come and shop for your trees and take them with you that day.

The conservation district seedlings are available this year at five for $15, plus tax. They include: White Flowering Dogwood, Eastern Red Bud, New Jersey Tea, Buttonbush, Eastern Red Cedar, Black Willow, Ninebark, Persimmon, American Elderberry and American Arborvitae.

Apple Trees in a bundle of 2 (1 HoneyCrisp & 1 Gala) are $45, plus tax. These apple trees are all approximately 4-6 feet tall.

The shopping days will be today and tomorrow, April 24 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. and Saturday, April 25, from 9 a.m. until noon, while supplies last. The sale is held at the conservation district office, 45 Cooperation Lane, Mill Hall.

On Saturday, in addition to the Tree Sale shopping, there will be a variety of activities available to the public through the Clinton County 250 “Moving Forward.” This includes:

— Tree planting demonstration with DCNR.

— Butterfly puddling and Bee Hotel demonstration with Master Gardeners.

— Presentations about Pollinators and Garden incorporations with Master Gardeners.

— Native Information booth on State Tree, State Flower, State Insect with Master Gardeners.

— Workshop on how to make Container Gardens with Master Gardeners.
