Playground Design Day: Help

Shape the Future of Autumnwood Park

As part of the Arbor Day celebration, the township will also host a Community Playground Design Day in partnership with KABOOM! and the Pennsylvania Municipal League.

The township is planning a new inclusive play space at Autumnwood Park and invites community members, especially children, to share their ideas.

The park is getting a new playground, and community input is essential in shaping its design. To participate:

— Register to attend Design Day on April 25: volunteer.kaboom.org/opportunity/a7XPK0000001YCX2A2/help-design-a-newplayspace-at-autumnwood-park

— Share your ideas through the online vision survey: https://forms.office.com/r/cmuxQgRkDU

The design day schedule includes:

— Children’s Session (Kid Design Workshop) from 12 to 1 p.m. Children will be invited to share their ideas as “play space experts,” helping shape features and equipment for the new playground.

— Adult Workshop (Community Planning Session) from 1 to 2:30 p.m. Adults will help guide planning and identify leadership roles for the upcoming community build. Focus areas include: Site features and construction logistics; volunteer recruitment and outreach; event and meal planning; build Week coordination and logistics; selection of playground equipment based on community input.

In August, volunteers will come together for a community build to construct the new playground, transforming ideas from Design Day into a new play space for local children.
