PLEASANT GAP — The Centre County Recycling and Refuse Authority (CCRRA) is sponsoring a Household Hazardous Waste Collection Event April 24-25.

Don’t miss this chance to safely rid your home of Household Hazardous Waste products by dropping them off at Centre County Recycling and Refuse Authority, 253 Transfer Road, Bellefonte.

Appointments are needed and are available on Friday, April 24, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., and on Saturday, April 25, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.

To register for your time slot for dropping off the household hazardous waste products, visit www.centrecountyrecycles.org.

Once you complete the online registration, print out your confirmation ticket and bring it along to the event, or have a copy of the registration confirmation on your phone and readily available to show upon your arrival at CCRRA.

Household Hazardous Waste items that can be brought to this collection include insecticides/weed killers, cleaners and poisons, corrosives and flammables, cfl bulbs and fluorescent tubes, pool chemicals, oil based paints and anti-freeze.

Please place the items into sturdy cardboard boxes and load the materials in the trunk of your car or in the bed of a truck for delivery to CCRRA. Containers will not be returned, so sturdy, recyclable cardboard boxes work well in this situation.

If you are unable to keep your drop off appointment time, please cancel your appointment, since others may be waiting for an opening to become available. Cancellations may be done on-line or by calling 814-238-7005.
