Walk with Me Centre County
Easterseals Western and Central Pennsylvania will host its sixth annual “Walk with Me Centre County” at 9 a.m. on Saturday, June 27, 2026, at Penn’s Prairie Park, 2400 Upper Brush Valley Road. The community is invited to walk, stroll or wheel a one-mile course in support of individuals living with disabilities. Proceeds benefit Easterseals programs, including services at its Child Development Center in State College. Free shoes
The Shoe Bank will give free new shoes to eligible kids and teens on Saturday, May 9, then close for June and July, re-opening in August. For more information and to get an appointment, contact Diahann at 814-571-5324, any weeknight from 7-9 p.m.

Training programs
Roads to Peace offers customizable, age appropriate prevention education programs for all age groups. Programs include but are not limited to: domestic violence, sexual assault, elder abuse, people with disabilities abuse, medical screening, traumatic brain injury, workplace violence, sexual harassment, sexual coercion, dating violence, healthy relationships, bullying, stranger danger, three kinds of touches and human trafficking. Seeking sobriety
Seeking Sobriety, a local AA meeting, meets Mondays from 7 to 8 p.m. at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, 112 E. Main St., Lock Haven. Enter through the door at the end of a walkway on the right of the church. The open meeting features rotating topics with a focus on tools and a mindset for getting and staying sober.
