Writers’

Network

The Nittany Valley Writers’ Network will host an open reading night for all levels of writers on Tuesday, June 9, at 6 p.m., in Schlow Library’s Community Room, 211 S. Allen St., State College. Doors open at 6 p.m., and the readings will begin at 6:30 p.m. Attendees are welcome to bring a short writing sample to share or come to listen. The event is free and open to the public. The Nittany Valley Writers’ Network is a sharing, supportive community linking local writers of all genres and levels of experience. Keep Triangle Garden clean

Dogwood Circle Garden Club invites those who walk and enjoy our Triangle Garden in front of the post office to help the club keep up the loveliness of it! Thank you for not littering the area with candy wrappers and cigarette butts.

Cleaning and planting the gardens has already taken place to celebrate “250.” Again, we appreciate your diligence during our summer project.

Helping Hands

Helping Hands will be open on Wednesday, June 17, from 6-7:30 p.m., at the United Evangelical Lutheran Church, behind Kentucky Fried Chicken, in Lock Haven. Helping Hands provides free cleaning supplies and personal hygiene items to low income families and seniors in the Lock Haven and surrounding area.
