TODAY

— Howard Fire Company’s Indoor Yard Sale, 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Kitchen will be open until 5 p.m.

— Food distribution will be from 4-6 p.m., at St. John’s Lutheran Church, 216 McAllister St., Bellefonte. There aren’t any income guidelines but a few questions are asked for those attending for the first time. For more info on these food distributions, call Leilani “Loni” at 814-548-7835.

— Milesburg Lions Bingo every Thursday night at the Milesburg Community Center. Doors open at 5 p.m. and Bingo starts at 6:45 p.m.

TOMORROW

— Howard Fire Company’s Indoor Yard Sale, 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Kitchen will be open until 5 p.m.

— Old School Market, former Rote Elementary, at East End Mountain Road, Mill Hall, is open each Friday from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m.

— Clinton County Residential Tire Collection Day, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., at the Wayne Township Landfill’s Recycling Center. Collection is free for Clinton County residents, up to 12 tires can be brought, with valid ID as proof of residency in the county.

— A large Yard Sale is being held at the Oriole Church, 39 Main Road in Jersey Shore, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Come shop for bargains!

— The Sugar Valley Lions Club will be having Bingo at 55 Sportsman Rd., Loganton. Doors will open at 6 p.m. and games start at 7 p.m. Tickets are $25 for 20 games and will be available at the door. SATURDAY

— Howard Fire Company’s Indoor Yard Sale, 8 a.m. to noon. Volunteers are needed to pack up all the left over items to have them removed from the fire hall.

— Howard VFW’s Spring Gun Drawing, noon to 5 p.m., at the VFW Club. Tickets are $10.

— Howard Scout Troop 353 will host a Mother’s Day Dinner at the Howard United Methodist Church. Reservations are needed and can be done by calling Patti at 814-625-2182. Dine in hours available from three time slots between 3 p.m. and 7 p.m. Take-outs available for pickup from 2-3 p.m. All meals are $15 for adults; $10 for those 5-12 and free for younger ones.

— LHHS and ICHS Classes of 1957 meet on the second Saturday of each month at Restless Oaks at 9 a.m. Classmates and guests are welcome.

— Penn State Extension will hold the 4-H Wildlife and Forestry Field Day, an event where youth from across Pennsylvania can explore their interest in wildlife and forestry. The event will occur from 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the Penn State Ag Progress Days site, 2710 W. Pine Grove Road, Pennsylvania Furnace. Registration will take place from 9:30 a.m. to 10 a.m. The event will be held rain or shine. This year’s theme is Head, Heart, Hand, Health and Habitat. Youth do not need any preparation or prior experience with wildlife or forestry to participate. Pre-registration was required by April 27. — A large Yard Sale is being held at the Oriole Church, 39 Main Road in Jersey Shore, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Come shop for bargains!

— Kettle Creek State Park celebrates the spring migration with the “10th Annual Birding Festival”, which will be held from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m., in the Day Use area of the park. Highlights of the festival include pontoon boat rides to explore habitat features that attract waterfowl and other bird species to the reservoir area. A raptor program featuring live birds is held throughout the day. Guided bird walks through several habitat types allows participants to see and hear some of the resident bird species as well as spring migrants. Other activities will include making bird related crafts, building bluebird boxes, informational tables featuring scope and binocular use and basic bird identification.

Participants are encouraged to bring a picnic lunch and use one of the many picnic tables in the area. Parking will be in the Day Use parking lot. Bring binoculars, journals or birding related materials if you have them. The festival will happen rain or shine, but may be cancelled in the event of severe weather. — The Lock Haven Shoe Bank will be open from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., by appointment. For more information and to get an appointment, contact Diahann at 814-571-5324, any weeknight from 7-9 p.m. The Lock Haven Area Shoe Bank is inside Covenant United Methodist Church, 44 W. Main St., Lock Haven. The program gives free new shoes to wee ones through high school seniors whose families live anywhere in Clinton County or the Liberty-Curtin School attendance area. The family must have an active Compass app or a Compass paper. Those who don’t have Compass may be referred by an agency, a church or another organization. Eligible children and teens can come and choose a pair of new shoes, new socks and books. Everything is free.

SUNDAY

— HAPPY MOTHER’S DAY!

— Centre Ballroom is having a ballroom dance at Lambert Hall in Bellefonte from 2-5 p.m. Cost is $10 per person. Those attending should bring a snack to share. Call 717-543-8348 for info.

— Enjoy a free Mothers’ Day Tea at the Heisey House at 2 p.m., followed by Bebe Fultz’s presentation of her ancestor, Sybil Ludington, Revolutionary War Heroine. Reservations are required by calling 570-748-7254 or emailing us at info@clintonpahistory.org.
