Calendar of Events
MONDAY
— Blood Drive, 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., at the Penn Stater Hotel, University Park, State College.
— Howard Area Lions Club Food Distribution, noon to 3 p.m., at the former Beech Creek Elementary School. Bring a sturdy box (or boxes) with you.
— Dunnstown Fire Company offers a Cash Bingo every Monday night at the fire station at 119 Woodward Ave., Lock Haven. Bingo starts at 6 p.m. and all proceeds help to support the fire company’s needs.
WEDNESDAY
— LHHS and ICHS Classes of 1959 will hold a luncheon at 12 p.m. at Brown’s Hill Tavern, near Interstate 80 in Lamar. All classmates and guests are welcome.
— LHHS Class of 1952 will have their monthly luncheon at 12 noon at Restless Oaks. All members and guests are invited.
— The Pennsylvania Happy Travelers will meet at 3 p.m. at the Lock Haven STEP Center, 124 E. Walnut St., Lock Haven. Note that this is a week later due to a conflict. This change is for this meeting only. The meetings are usually held on the second Wednesday of the month The STEP Center has requested that those attending the meetings arrive at the venue no earlier than 2:50 p.m. since other groups are scheduled in the meeting area until that time.
— Helping Hands will be open from 6-7:30 p.m., at the United Evangelical Lutheran Church, behind Kentucky Fried Chicken, in Lock Haven. Helping Hands provides free cleaning supplies and personal hygiene items to low income families and seniors in the Lock Haven and surrounding area. Helping Hands is usually open the third Wednesday of each month.

THURSDAY
— Beech Creek Wesleyan Church will have the free Mobile Food Pantry at the church from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Anyone may come for food administered by the New Love Center in Jersey Shore.
— Blood Drive, 1-6 p.m., at Lock Haven Moose Lodge, 150 S. Hanna St.
— Milesburg Lions Bingo every Thursday night at the Milesburg Community Center. Doors open at 5 p.m. and Bingo starts at 6:45 p.m.
— LHHS and ICHS Class of 1958 monthly get together at 1 p.m. at Haywood’s on the Green in Mill Hall. Questions, call 570-660-0134.
— Clinton County Veterans Affairs MilitaryShare distribution is from 9-11 a.m. at the Castanea Fire Co. picnic grounds. For more info call the CCVA office at 570-893-4339.
Military Share distribution is scheduled for the third Thursday of each month from 9-11 a.m.
— LHHS and ICHS Classes of 1964 monthly luncheon at 1 p.m., at The Venture Inn. All class members and friends are invited. Call Donna at 570-748-6821 to make your reservations.
FRIDAY
— Howard Area Lions annual Memorial Service to be held at the Foster Sayers Memorial Monument at the breast of Sayers Dam. Coordinated by the Lions Club and both Centre and Clinton County Veterans Offices, this is an outdoor ceremony featuring guest speakers and honoring of military veterans. New bricks in the Walk of Honor will be unveiled.
SATURDAY
— A Memorial Day weekend art show and sale will be held at 145 Railroad St., Cammal, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. today and on May 24 from 12 to 4 p.m. Local artists works including graphite, wildlife art, jewelry, pottery, soaps, candles, needle felting, live edge wood, laser cut wood, plush critters, wine bottle wind chimes, notecards and more. The event is free to enter. Cash or checks are accepted for purchasing items.
SUNDAY
— The Hoppy Valley Brewers Fest has been cancelled due to low ticket sales.

— Country Jam will be held at the Yearick Center in Howard from 2-6 p.m. Hosted by the Back Porch String Band, this afternoon of free music is open to the public. Those attending should bring a snack to share and a few dollars to drop into the hat for the Howard Fire Company. If you play an instrument, bring it along and play with the bands who are there.
