Saturday, May 23

— A Memorial Day weekend art show and sale will be held at 145 Railroad St., Cammal, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. today and on May 24 from 12 to 4 p.m. Local artists works including graphite, wildlife art, jewelry, pottery, soaps, candles, needle felting, live edge wood, laser cut wood, plush critters, wine bottle wind chimes, notecards and more. The event is free to enter. Cash or checks are accepted for purchasing items.

Sunday, May 24

— The Hoppy Valley Brewers Fest has been cancelled due to low ticket sales.

— Country Jam will be held at the Yearick Center in Howard from 2-6 p.m. Hosted by the Back Porch String Band, this afternoon of free music is open to the public. Those attending should bring a snack to share and a few dollars to drop into the hat for the Howard Fire Company. If you play an instrument, bring it along and play with the bands who are there.

Monday, May 25

— Memorial Day holiday, honoring those military veterans who have died.

— Beech Creek American Legion Memorial Day Parade, 10 a.m. Line-up begins at 9 a.m. in the area of the Liberty Baptist Church behind the ballfield in Blanchard. Parade route will be through Blanchard, to Route 150, and proceed to the American Legion grounds where there will be free hot dogs and drinks for parade participants.

— Memorial Services at 1 p.m. at Eagle (Curtin) Cemetery with guest speaker Paul Kline.

— Memorial Services at 2 p.m. at Schencks Cemetery with guest speaker Tor Michaels.

— Dunnstown Fire Company offers a Cash Bingo every Monday night at the fire station at 119 Woodward Ave., Lock Haven. Bingo starts at 6 p.m. and all proceeds help to support the fire company’s needs.

Tuesday, May 26

— Blood Drive, 12:30-6 p.m., at Park Forest Baptist Church, State College.

— Bellefonte Area School Board meeting, 7 p.m., at the Bellefonte Area Middle School cafeteria

Wednesday, May 27

— St. Paul Food Pantry, 6220 Nittany Valley Drive, Mill Hall, (1 mile north of the I-80 interchange on Route 64), is open the second and fourth Wednesday of every month from 9-11 a.m. No documentation is required. You may call the church at 570-748-7932 or 570-726-7460. People may call these numbers at any time for any type of assistance they may need.

— LHHS and ICHS Class of 1955 will have their monthly luncheon at Haywood’s in Lock Haven on May 27 at noon. All class members and their guests are invited.

— The Commonwealth University-Lock Haven Admissions Office will host a Major Showcase Day from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

— Rote United Methodist Church, 102 Beagle Road, Mill Hall, will be showing The Sound of Freedom, a story on human trafficking, at 7 p.m. Snacks and water will be available.

Thursday, May 28

— Hammermill “office girls” reunion luncheon will be held at 11:30 a.m. at Haywoods on the Green in Mill Hall.

— Milesburg Lions Bingo every Thursday night at the Milesburg Community Center. Doors open at 5 p.m. and Bingo starts at 6:45 p.m.

— Howard Area Lions Bingo, 6:30 p.m., at the Beech Creek Fire social hall. Doors open at 5:30 p.m. This will be the last evening of Lions Bingo until September.

Friday, May 29

— Blood Drive, 12-4:30 p.m., at the Lock Haven American Legion Post 131

— Mill Hall Borough will hold its community wide yard sales on May 29 and 30.
