Central Mountain seniors receive scholarships at Wildwood

Connor Kleckner was awarded a scholarship at the Tournament Indoor Association Championships in Wildwood, N.J.
LOCK HAVEN — Recently, two Central Mountain High School seniors received scholarships at the Tournament Indoor Association Championships in Wildwood, N.J.
Connor Kleckner, part of the Central Mountain Twirlers and Color Guard Team, was the inaugural recipient of the Ken Fox Sportsmanship Scholarship in the amount of $1,000. This scholarship is chosen by different teams applying for it, and then one student from that team is chosen. Connor is definitely the embodiment of showing sportsmanship and is a friend to many people from different teams. Connor will be attending Commonwealth University-Bloomsburg in the fall pursuing his Bachelor’s in Theatre.
Layla Hayes is part of the Haven Performing Arts Ensemble Regional A Dance Team and received the National Judges Association Dance Scholarship in the amount of $2,750. There were over 160 applicants for the Dance and Twirl Scholarships, and Layla was one of the four recipients.
Layla will be attending CPI in the fall to obtain her LPN, and then plans to further her education by obtaining her RN and becoming a Labor and Delivery Nurse.
