Centre Hall scouts assist in placing flags on veterans’ graves

PHOTOS PROVIDED

Friday afternoon, in Centre Hall, Boy Scouts from Scouting America Troop 20 and Cub Scouts from Pack 20 assisted the Centre Hall American Legion Post 779 in replacing flags at the Reformed and Lutheran Cemetery for Memorial Day. Under the leadership of Post Commander Gary Way, scouts were able to ask questions about veterans who are buried in the cemetery from the Revolutionary War through today’s conflicts. Mr. Way served during the Vietnam War and is a highly decorated Purple Heart recipient. The scouts in Centre Hall have been volunteering for this service project over the past 10 years, and the veterans from the American Legion appreciate the assistance they get from the local scout troop and pack.

Starting at $3.69/week.
