Covenant Cafe to celebrate the 1960s on June 2
LOCK HAVEN — The Covenant Cafe, an activity group for those in the early stages of Alzheimer’s disease or other dementias, will be meeting on Tuesday, June 2, from 1-3 p.m., at Covenant United Methodist Church, 44 W. Main St., Lock Haven.
The group will be celebrating the “Sixties” with a variety of 1960’s themed activities including a “Walk Down Memory Lane” with a display of artifacts from that era, music and dances from the decade, a tie dyed craft, 60s trivia and reminiscing and even 60’s Bingo. Refreshments will include food that was popular during that time. Covenant Cafe participants are invited to attend with family and friends to this special celebration of a special time.
The Covenant Cafe is a joint venture between the Nurturing, Outreach and Worship Committee of Covenant United Methodist, the Alzheimer’s Support Group and the Alzheimer’s Association. Participants in this group are given an opportunity to be involved in socially and physically stimulating programs which will help them remain as active as possible. Individuals and families who are interested in being involved in this free program, which meets the first and third Tuesday of each month, are invited to call Fran Decker, MSW, at 570-748-4302 or 570-263-2084 for more information.
