Dogwood Circle Garden Club has honored Ken and Cindy Zdonowski, 17 Pocahontas Trail, with the May Garden of the Month Award. The first homeowners 33 years ago, they updated the front foundation/entry garden two years ago. With pots of colorful red, white and blue annuals flanked by red barberry and evenly spaced and neatly trimmed boxwoods and pink phlox, their front porch is a favorite peaceful place to relax. As spring progresses the salvia, hydrangea, skip laurel, daylilies, lilac, rose of Sharon and redbud will provide an array of color. Judge for a June garden winner is Barbara, 570-660-5755. Gardens are judged for color, variety, neatness, curb appeal and must be viewable from a public road or alley.
