Alzheimer’s Support Group to meet June 9
LOCK HAVEN — The Alzheimer’s Support Group of Clinton County will meet Tuesday, June 9, at 7 p.m., at Covenant United Methodist Church, 44 W. Main St., Lock Haven.
Jeff Bayliff of “Hear the Birds Sing” Hearing Aid Center in Lock Haven will be the guest speaker. His presentation will be on “Hearing Loss and Dementia.”
Research shows that hearing loss might be a contributing factor to dementia risk over time and treating hearing loss may lower the risk. This is an important consideration for caregivers of Alzheimer’s patients as hearing loss may be easily overlooked as a contributing factor and it is treatable.
Jeff is a graduate of Tennessee Temple University in Chattanooga, Tenn., with a BA in Bible Studies and has done Master level work at Central Baptist Seminary in Minneapolis. He has served as a pastor in several Baptist churches over 34 years, including one in Lock Haven.
In 2005, he began an apprenticeship in the hearing aid business, is licensed in Virginia and Pennsylvania and is nationally board certified in the hearing instrument sciences.
In 2012, he opened “Hear the Birds Sing” hearing aid center in Lock Haven, one of the busiest hearing aid clinics in Central Pennsylvania. Jeff also writes regular articles on hearing healthcare for The Express.
