Flag Disposal Ceremony

The 40 & 8 Voiture Locale No. 903 of Lock Haven will dispose of unserviceable American flags in a ceremony on Wednesday, June 10 at 6 p.m. at the club located at 1098 Renovo Road, three miles above Lock Haven. Members of the 40 & 8 request all flags for disposal be dropped off by 5 p.m. The public is invited to attend the ceremony.

Monthly lunch

The 1958 Classes of LHHS and ICHS are having their monthly get together at Brown’s Hill Tavern on Thursday, June 18, at 1 p.m. For any questions, call 570-660-0134.

Flags of Honor

Be sure to visit the Flags of Honor display in Triangle Park, Lock Haven. Nearly 200 flags stand proudly honoring many military veterans, first responders, teachers and others. The Flags of Honor display will remain up for Flag Day and until June 16.

Many local cemeteries are struggling with having enough funds to make sure that the grass gets mowed. Whatever cemetery your loved ones are buried in, please consider making a donation now to help with the grass mowing expenses.

Reunions

If your family or graduating high school class has a reunion coming up this summer that you’d like mentioned in our Reunions section of The Express, please email the details of the reunion to us at news@lockhaven.com. Be sure to include the family name or high school along with the date, time and location of the reunion. Any other specific information (like bring your own table service or a gift for the white elephant sale) should also be included. Please provide a contact telephone number for us to call if we have questions. And don’t forget to share the details of your reunion with us afterward as well.

TOPS

TOPS (Take Off Pounds Sensibly) is looking for interested participants and guest speakers. Weigh-ins are from 4:30-5 p.m. each Monday afternoon, followed by the business meeting at 5 p.m. TOPS is held at the Flemington First Church of Christ, 714 Canal St., Mill Hall. Guest speakers are being sought to give a 15-20 minute presentation (or demonstration) on nutrition, forms of exercising or other healthy habits during the meetings. For questions or to volunteer as a guest speaker, call Anna at 570-660-2087.

New Hope Fellowship Room

New Hope Fellowship has a Fellowship Corner Room at its church at 6436 Nittany Valley Drive, Mill Hall. The Fellowship Corner Room is available for your parties, receptions, showers and other small gathering events. The room will seat 60-70 comfortably and offers tables, cushioned chairs, stoves, microwaves, a refrigerator and plenty of counter space and outside parking. Monetary donations are appreciated but are not required for you to use the Fellowship Corner Room. Contact New Hope Fellowship at 570-755-1450 for info.
