Summer Wreaths

Penn State Master Gardeners will be instructing a summer wreath class on Tuesday, June 9, from 6-7:30 p.m., at the SVRCS, 236 E Main St., Loganton. Cost of $30 includes all materials needed. Silk Scarves

Colleen Musgrave with Blooming Meadows Farm will be back on the SVRCS campus at 236 E. Main St. Loganton, on Thursday, June 11, from 6-8 p.m., where she will be working with students to create an eco-print silk scarf. $45 includes a silk scarf and all the materials needed to create fresh flower prints. Concerts in Lamar

Lamar Lighthouse Camp’s Summer Concert Series begins with GloryWay on Sunday, June 7, at 6 p.m. Each Sunday evening at 6 p.m., there will be a different group providing the musical worship service at the campground. The public is invited to attend the free concerts. A love offering is taken during the evening. LLC is located along Route 64 near Lamar. Porter Township 5K Cancelled

The Porter Township Heritage Festival Committee is sad to announce that the 10th annual 5K Walk-Run has been cancelled due to light participation sign-ups. Hopefully we will be able to have the 5K Walk-Run next spring.

Porter Township’s Heritage Day Festival is set for June 13, from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., at Recreation Park in Lamar. Call Larry Butler at 570-726-6635 for more info.

Help is coming

June 8-12 is the week for smiles all around. That’s when the annual One Family at a Time hometown mission will bring together volunteers to do small home repairs and other projects for people who need their help. Summer Library Program

Porter Township Community Library will be having their Summer Library program on Tuesdays in June, (June 9, 16 and 23) from 9-11 a.m., at the library. The June 30 session will be a picnic held at Recreation Park. Stories, activities, crafts, games, snacks and book selections will be provided with a guest reader each week.
