Lock Haven and Immaculate Conception High School Classes of 1959 will meet for lunch on June 17, at noon, at Ruby Tuesday in Mill Hall. All classmates and their guests are welcome to come! We’d like to see everyone there!
Community Summer Meal Program
SVRCS will again be offering FREE meals for children 0-18 years of age (and up to 21 years for special needs students) for the summer months. Starting Thursday, June 25, through Thursday, July 30, SVRCS will be open from 1 to 2:30 p.m. on Thursdays only for families to pick up packages which will include three breakfasts and three lunches per child. This is not based on financial need. Everyone is welcome. We welcome parents/guardians/grandparents to call for their child’s meals! We ask for you to RSVP to djeffries@svrcs.org or 570-367-1351 so that we can plan accordingly, however no one will be turned away.
Bingo Fundraiser
A Cash Bingo Fundraiser for Stephanie Mills is scheduled for July 18 at KBR Bingo and More, 1 Piper Way, Lock Haven. Tickets cost $20 with doors opening at 11 a.m. and Bingo starting at 1 p.m. The event will feature a 50/50 drawing, Chinese auction, raffles and food. Blood Drive
St. Luke’s United Church of Christ in Flemington will be holding a Red Cross Blood Drive, at the church, on Tuesday, Aug. 25. Walk-ins are welcome, or you may schedule an appointment on the Red Cross Website at www.redcrossblood.org. St. Luke’s will be serving its world famous root beer floats.
Writers’ Network
The Nittany Valley Writers’ Network will host an open reading night for all levels of writers on Tuesday, June 9, at 6 p.m., in Schlow Library’s Community Room, 211 S. Allen St., State College. Doors open at 6 p.m., and the readings will begin at 6:30 p.m. Attendees are welcome to bring a short writing sample to share or come to listen. The event is free and open to the public. The Nittany Valley Writers’ Network is a sharing, supportive community linking local writers of all genres and levels of experience.
