Clinton County Fair looking for helpers during this year’s Fair
MACKEYVILLE — The Clinton County Fair Association is looking for help with a variety of tasks during Fair Week, Aug. 1-8, 2026, and it’s a good opportunity for individuals and groups.
If you’re looking to earn some extra money this summer and enjoy spending time at the Fairgrounds in Mackeyville, helping out during Fair Week could be right up your alley.
Specific needs include people to serve as parking attendants and restroom attendants. There’s also a need for people to help serve food at Clint’s Diner, the Fair Association’s food concession stand.
“This is a great opportunity for civic organizations, church groups, sports teams, youth groups — really any type of group — as well as individuals who might be interested in helping, to earn some money and support a great cause,” says Fair Managers Barb Forshey and Donna Wech, who note that youth groups must have adult supervision.
Parking attendants help park vehicles coming to the fairgrounds during Fair Week. These are paid positions, and six to eight people are needed on a daily basis.
One or two people are needed as restroom attendants, keeping the five restrooms at the fairgrounds cleaned throughout the eight-day fair.
People or groups interested in helping with parking or the restrooms should call the Fair Office at 570-726-4148 and leave a message.
One local group — volunteers from the Walnut Street Christian School — will staff the main gate again this year during the Fair, with the School receiving a donation for their efforts.
The Fair Association offers a donation to groups or organizations interested in preparing and serving food at Clint’s Diner during Fair Week. Helpers are needed on two specific days — Tuesday and Wednesday, Aug. 4 and 5. Those interested in helping at the food concession should contact Donna Wech at 570-295-8887 or donnawech15@gmail.com.
Of course, unpaid volunteers are also welcome during Fair Week and throughout the year, says Forshey and Wech. “We have a variety of tasks that volunteers can help with, so we’re always looking for people interested in pitching in.”
