The American Legion Remembrance Post #442 of Renovo, as well as the Bucktail Detachment #865 Marine Corps League, observed Flag Day services Saturday morning at the 16th Street Park in Renovo. Every year the group ceremoniously and honorably retires and disposes of hundreds, likely even thousands, of American Flags that have become too faded or torn to properly be displayed. Area businesses, cemeteries and homes are able to drop their unserviceable flags off at the Legion in a drop box, which the veterans properly store until the annual event on or around every June 14.
