Cornhole benefit
Jersey Shore American Legion, 320 Seminary St., is having a Cornhole tournament and brisket meal benefit for Mike Rhinehart on Sunday, July 12, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Cornhole sign up sheet will be available at the bar on the day of, before 11 a.m. and bags fly at 11:30 a.m. Cost is $25 per team, meals included. $12 brisket meal includes a brisket sandwich, mac and cheese, coleslaw or pepper cabbage and dessert. 50/50 and basket raffle from 11 a.m. to 4p.m. Basket donations are needed.
Ice Cream Social
The Nittany/Sugar Valley United Methodist Charge will be holding their annual Ice Cream Social at the Booneville Campground, Campground Road, Loganton, on Saturday, July 25, from 4-7 p.m. Various flavors of homemade ice cream and a variety of homemade pies will be available. Hot sausage sandwiches, hamburgers, hot dogs and drinks will be available for purchase. Join them for an evening of great food and fellowship!
1st Ward Reunion
1st Ward Reunion to be held Sunday, July 12, at the Castanea picnic grounds. The event starts at 1 p.m. and dinner will be at 2 p.m. Bring a covered dish to share. For questions, call 570-367-0047. Rain or shine.
Yost Reunion
The 65th Annual Yost Reunion will be held on Saturday, Aug. 1, at the Wayne Township Municipal Park, Linnwood Drive., McElhattan, (behind the fire hall). The meal will be served at noon. Please bring covered dishes to share. The afternoon activities include volleyball and cornhole. The children’s playground is open. The evening meal will begin at 5 p.m. Make sure to bring covered dishes for this meal, too. Hamburgers, hotdogs, buns, coffee table service will be provided for both meals. Please bring the beverages of your choice and extra coolers with ice for preserving the foods to be eaten later in the day.

Howard Area Lions Club offers medical equipment to people who need it, free of charge. Perhaps you’re in need of a cane, crutches, a walker, shower chair, a bedside potty or even a hospital bed, give the Lions a call. Bingo Fundraiser
A Cash Bingo Fundraiser for Stephanie Mills is scheduled for July 18 at KBR Bingo and More, 1 Piper Way, Lock Haven. Tickets cost $20 with doors opening at 11 a.m. and Bingo starting at 1 p.m. The event will feature a 50/50 drawing, Chinese auction, raffles and food.
