Rock the Block
Veterans Multi-Service Center (VMC) is hosting a Rock the Block Community Block Party and Resource Fair on Friday, July 17, from 2 to 7 p.m., in the parking lot at 8 N. Grove St., Lock Haven. This free, family-friendly event brings resources directly to Veterans and community members in one accessible place. Twenty agencies have already been confirmed, including the Pa. Governor's Office, Pa. Department of Military and Veterans Affairs, North Penn Legal Services, STEP, Roads to Peace, Altoona VA Medical Center and UPMC Health Plan, with more signing up daily. There will also be kid's games and activities, snow cones from Pelican's SnoBalls and on-site resource screenings.
Butterfly release
Centre HomeCare, Inc. Centre Crossings Hospice, State College and Community Nursing Service of Clinton County will be holding their annual Hospice Butterfly Release on Saturday, July 18, 2026, at 1 p.m. at the Centre Furnace Mansion. Butterflies will be available for purchase at the event for $25 to release in memory of a loved one who has passed. All proceeds go to benefit Centre Crossing Hospice, State College. Class of '55
LHHS Class of 1955 will be having their monthly luncheon on Wednesday, July 29, at noon, at the Jersey Shore Diner. Lunch will be outside. All classmates and guests are invited.
Helping Hands
Helping Hands will NOT be open on Wednesday, July 15, from 6-7:30 p.m., at the United Evangelical Lutheran Church, behind Kentucky Fried Chicken, in Lock Haven. Helping Hands provides free cleaning supplies and personal hygiene items to low income families and seniors in the Lock Haven and surrounding area. Helping Hands is usually open the third Wednesday of each month except in July. Helping Hands will be open on Aug. 19. Cash Bingo Events
Dunnstown Fire Company offers a Cash Bingo every Monday night at the fire station on 119 Woodward Ave., Lock Haven. Bingo starts at 6 p.m. and all proceeds help to support the fire company's needs. Bingo will be held on July 20 and 27.
KBR Bingo and More holds Bingo every Tuesday night at the Piper Airport Museum's 3rd floor, Lock Haven. Early Bird game at 6:15 p.m., and regular Bingo at 6:30 p.m.
