Fireflies
All families are invited to attend a firefly class presented by the Penn State Master Gardeners on Aug. 10 from 11 a.m. to noon! Learn all about these beautiful insects and have a fun craft to follow! Program is free, and held at the SVRCS, 236 E. Main St., Loganton. Contact djeffries@svrcs.org or 570-367-1351 to reserve your seats. The deadline to RSVP is Thursday, Aug. 6.
Advance fair tickets
Discounted advance weekly gate passes, parking passes and Bullride Mania rodeo tickets are available through July 31 for the 2026 Clinton County Fair, to be held Aug. 1-8 at the Fairgrounds in Mackeyville. You can pick up advance passes and tickets at Chatham Run Feed Mill in Woolrich; Dotterer Equipment, Mill Hall (Route 64); 64 Beer Store/The Farmer's Dotterer also along Route 64; Tails and Trails and Complete Climate Control in Lock Haven and at the Fair Office.
Free Concert
Jersey Shore Assembly of God will present Janet Paschal in concert on Sunday, July 26, at 6 p.m. Janet is a singer/songwriter, author, an inspirational speaker and a Gospel Music Hall of Fame inductee. She has performed with Bill Gaither, Jimmy Swaggart and more!
All are invited to the concert at the church at 172 Antes Fort Main St., Antes Fort.
Free Clothing
Clothes for the Community will be open at Bald Eagle Area High School in Wingate on July 25 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and on July 26 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Free clothing, shoes, accessories and more! Sizes range from newborns to 5X! Donations are now being accepted. Clothing should be clean, slightly used and free of stains! Call Heather at 814-769-0523 for drop off times and locations. Volunteers are needed on Friday, July 24, to help sort and arrange the items on tables at the school and on Sunday afternoon at 2 p.m. to pack up leftover items.
Medical Equipment
Howard Area Lions Club offers medical equipment to people who need it, free of charge. Perhaps you're in need of a cane, crutches, a walker, shower chair, a bedside potty or even a hospital bed, give the Lions a call.
