Covenant Cafe to hold Penn State Ice Cream Day on July 7
LOCK HAVEN — The Covenant Cafe, an activity group for those in the early stages of Alzheimer’s disease or other dementias, will be meeting on Tuesday, July 7, from 1 to 3 p.m., at Covenant United Methodist Church, 44 W. Main St., Lock Haven.
It will be Penn State Ice Cream Day at Covenant Cafe with Dolly Madison, a.k.a Pam Blesh, dishing out the ice cream. Dolly is credited with introducing ice cream to the White House. The group will also be celebrating recent birthdays of participants and volunteers with a photo show of all them by volunteer photographer, Bill Raco.
The session will end with a Patriotic Sing Along and a game of Patriotic BINGO in celebration of our country’s 250th birthday.
The Covenant Cafe is a joint venture between the Nurturing, Outreach and Worship Committee of Covenant United Methodist, the Alzheimer’s Support Group and the Alzheimer’s Association. Participants in this group are given an opportunity to be involved in socially and physically stimulating programs which will help them remain as active as possible.
