1 min read

LOCK HAVEN -- The Covenant Cafe, an activity group for those in the early stages of Alzheimer's disease or other dementias, will be meeting on Tuesday, July 21, from 1-3 p.m., at Covenant United Methodist Church, 44 W. Main St., Lock Haven.

Lou Bernard, a local historian, will start the session with a talk on what was happening in our local area 250 years ago in 1776 during the birth of our Nation.

Following Lou's talk, Andrea Schenck, a volunteer from the STEP Office of Aging, will lead a seated exercise class using pool noodles. Refreshments will be served.

The Covenant Cafe is a joint venture between the Nurturing, Outreach and Worship Committee of Covenant United Methodist, the Alzheimer's Support Group and the Alzheimer's Association. Participants in this group are given an opportunity to be involved in socially and physically stimulating programs which will help them remain as active as possible. Individuals and families who are interested in being involved in this free program, which meets the first and third Tuesday of each month, are invited to call Fran Decker, MSW, at 570-748-4302 or 570-263-2084 for more information.
