COBURN -- Get ready for a day of music, local food, laughter and learning as Crickfest returns to Coburn Park on Saturday, Sept. 5. Hosted by the Penns Valley Conservation Association (PVCA), this beloved annual festival invites community members and visitors alike to celebrate the natural beauty and vibrant spirit of Penns Valley.
Held from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Labor Day Saturday, Crickfest has grown into one of the region's most anticipated traditions--combining outdoor recreation, environmental education and good old-fashioned fun for all ages.
The festivities begin with the popular Tunnel Trot 5K/10K, followed by a full day of activities from late morning into the afternoon. Attendees can look forward to live music, local food vendors, hands-on workshops, environmental exhibits and activities designed for kids and families alike.
Crickfest shines brightest as a family-friendly experience. Kids can dive into a wide variety of hands-on activities designed to spark curiosity and creativity. From the Children's Creativity Tent to the ever-popular rubber ducky races and high-flying bottle rocket launches, there's no shortage of excitement for young attendees. Educational exhibits and naturalist programs also offer up-close encounters with nature, making learning both interactive and fun. Adults can enjoy browsing plant sales, a silent auction, numerous displays from local non-profits, sampling delicious offerings from local vendors and tapping their toes to live music performances throughout the day.
At its heart, Crickfest is more than just a festival--it's a community-driven effort to support a meaningful cause. Proceeds from the event benefit PVCA's environmental education programs, which have served Penns Valley for over two decades through initiatives like school gardens, field trips and hands-on nature-based learning.
