Downtown Lock Haven announces Christmas in July Final Friday events

LOCK HAVEN -- Downtown Lock Haven, Inc. announced the upcoming Christmas in July themed Final Friday, July 31, from 3-9 p.m., on East Main Street throughout the shopping and dining district. The event is designed to offer the opportunity to explore the city while enjoying a traffic-free closed East Main Street. Activities include live disc jockey dance music, photo booth, appearance by a mermaid in a portable koi pond from the Appalachian Mermaid Society, Party Time Petting Zoo featuring a Highland Cow, Master Magician Michaelangelo show at 4 p.m. on street stage, appearances by Princess Belle and the Elf on the Shelf on Summer Vacation, personalized caricature drawings by Sam Saxton, face painting by BadMynx Design, temporary tattoos, Ion Temons MMA demonstration on the street, local vendors and exhibitors, store sales, dining on the street, lodging discount at Best Western Lock Haven and a live performance by Kopper and Kash.
"We want everyone to feel welcome in downtown so we planned activities that interest a variety of audiences," said Dr. Schulze, Manager Downtown Lock Haven. "Our store and business owners go out of their way to invite shoppers, diners and visitors to our great downtown district. We think the unique mermaid in a portable koi pond, petting zoo, caricature drawings, appearances by a princess and Elf on the Shelf, Magician Michaelangelo and the live music will make it a special event for everyone. There will be a few surprises, too!"
For visitors or local residents using the Best Western Lock Haven discounted rate of $122.10 including tax should mention Downtown Lock Haven Inc. when making a reservation at 570-748-3297. Avenue 209 Coffee House on Bellefonte Avenue will offer a 10% discount on a latte for hotel guests showing their keys on Friday, July 31. Some local stores are offering discounts during Christmas in July Final Friday.
Vendors and exhibitors include Bald Eagle Valley Kayak Co., AIDS Resource/AR Health, Pink Zebra, Dragons Creations, Diversified Treatment Alternative Centers LLC, Linda Hughey doll clothes and accessories and Betty Olmstead Santas and Snowmen.
Kopper and Kash appearance is sponsored by the City of Lock Haven, Clinton County Community Foundation, Clinton County Government and the Clinton County Economic Partnership and Visitors Bureau.
