Historical society to host event on heroic pup, Sally Ann Jarrett
PHOTO PROVIDED
The story of Sally Ann Jarrett, heroine of Gettysburg, will be told by David Bentz at the Poorman Gallery on July 12 from 2 to 4 p.m. Sally accompanied the men from Clinton County at the battle of Gettysburg and, because of her heroism, she is the only dog that has a monument at the Gettysburg Battlefield. This is a free program celebrating events that contributed to the story of our 250 years as a nation. The Clinton County Historical Society collects, preserves and shares the history of our community. For additional information on upcoming programs, volunteering, membership or research you can explore www.clintonpahistory.org. Pictured here is a replica of the statue in Gettysburg.
