LOCK HAVEN — The Lock Haven Fire Department is inviting local teens and their parents to attend an upcoming informational event for those interested in joining the department’s Junior Firefighter/Explorer Program, held this Saturday, July 11.

The event is designed to give prospective members and their families a better understanding of the program, how it operates and the many ways it benefits both participants and the community.

Attendees will:

Meet key members of the department and program leadership.

Learn about the Junior Firefighter/Explorer Program and its opportunities.

Tour both the Citizens Hose Company and Eastside Fire Station.

Experience hands-on demonstrations with firefighting and rescue equipment during simulated emergency incidents.

A parent or legal guardian must attend with each interested teen.

Those planning to attend are asked to RSVP by sending a message to the Lock Haven Fire Department’s Facebook page or by emailing twooding@lockhavenpa.gov. Additional event details, including the date, time and other information, will be provided upon RSVP.

The Junior Firefighter/Explorer Program offers young people a chance to develop leadership skills, gain hands-on experience in the fire service and serve their community alongside dedicated volunteer firefighters.
