LOCK HAVEN -- Downtown Lock Haven, Inc. has announced an addition to the Christmas in July Final Friday lineup scheduled on July 31 from 3 to 9 p.m. on East Main Street.
Pacific Rhythm Polynesian Entertainment, a Pennsylvania-based family troupe with Samoan ties and origins, will perform dance, music and authentic costumes from Pacific Islands such as Hawaii, Tonga, Cook Islands, Fiji, New Zealand and Tahiti.
The show is scheduled from 5-5:45 p.m. and is free to the public. It will feature education, audience participation and traditional coconut cracking demonstration.
"We think residents and visitors who love the music and movies of Moana and learning about other cultural traditions will especially enjoy the show. Pennsylvania is a very diverse state and it's wonderful to have this family visit us in Lock Haven and help us learn about some of the dances and costumes from their island countries," said Dr. Rick Schulze, Manager Downtown Lock Haven, Inc.
The event features activities in two blocks of East Main Street and Triangle Park including a magic show, petting zoo with a Highland cow, face painting, live DJ, photo booth, bounce house and crafts for children by Beyond the Bell for Clinton County, face painting, caricature drawing artist, MMA demo by Ian Temons, Appalachian Mermaid Society in a portable koi pond, pop up stand by Pearl's Cafe on Main, free freshly popped popcorn in front of SWC Realty, local crafters and non-profit groups, Kopper and Kash country band in Triangle Park at 6 p.m. and Big Willy in front of Stella A's at 6:30 p.m.
