Alzheimer’s Support Group to meet Aug. 11

LOCK HAVEN -- The Alzheimer's and Caregivers' Support Group will meet Tuesday, Aug. 11, from 7 to 8 p.m. at Covenant United Methodist Church, 44 W. Main St., Lock Haven. There is convenient parking next to the church and a handicapped accessible entrance.

"Staying Strong: Tips for Being a Healthy Caregiver" will be the topic.

Caring for someone with Alzheimer's disease or other diseases with accompanying memory loss is often difficult and challenging. The 10 common signs of caregiver stress will be reviewed.

The meeting will also be a time of sharing caregiving concerns with other caregivers. Educational materials from the Alzheimer's Association will be provided.

Sitter service can be provided to the person with memory loss at the church while caregivers are attending the meeting. Prior arrangements must be made for this service.
