LOCK HAVEN -- The Covenant Cafe, an activity group for those in the early stages of Alzheimer's disease or other dementias, will be meeting on Tuesday, Sept. 1, from 1 to 3 p.m., for a picnic at the Nature Park in McElhattan. The entree will be provided but attendees are asked to bring a side dish to share.
Master Gardeners Kathy Gillen and Lynda Cridge will be the guest presenters with a state flower quilt activity and other nature related activities. If the weather is inclement, there will be an indoor picnic at Covenant Church located at 44 W. Main St., Lock Haven.
The Covenant Cafe is a joint venture between the Nurturing, Outreach and Worship Committee of Covenant United Methodist, the Alzheimer's Support Group and the Alzheimer's Association. Participants in this group are given an opportunity to be involved in socially and physically stimulating programs which will help them remain as active as possible.
