LOCK HAVEN -- Runners, walkers and families are invited to hit the trails this fall for the Real People Helping People Race, a family-friendly event combining outdoor recreation with support for local youth.
The race will be held Saturday, Oct. 10, beginning at the Durty Dabber Pavilion, 274 Reservoir Road, Lock Haven. Race-day registration begins at 7:30 a.m.
Participants can choose from three different courses based on their ability and experience:
-- 10K Trail Run/Walk
-- 5K Trail Run/Walk
-- 2.5K Scenic Run/Walk
Proceeds from the event will benefit the Haven Summer Youth Program, which provides children with lunches, activities and opportunities to build relationships and stay connected with their community throughout the summer. A portion of the proceeds will also support the Central Mountain Cross Country team and its student-athletes.
Registration is $45, while participants 17 years old and younger can participate for free. Those who register by Sept. 21 are guaranteed an event T-shirt.
Following the race, food will be provided for participants. Family members, friends and spectators are also encouraged to attend and can join the post-race meal with a donation to help support the event.
The Real People Helping People Race aims to bring the community together for a morning of exercise, fellowship and giving back while supporting programs that make a difference for local youth.
