Renovo Library leverages CCCF grant funds with its own money to give building a facelift

Among the other repairs and improvements, the library now has improved handicap accessibility.
RENOVO -- The Renovo Area Public Library building's exterior was in need of repair due to chipping paint, vines and the like. The library board got together and applied for a grant from the Clinton County Community Foundation -- and things started happening.
With $14,900 in grant funds in hand -- and using library funds -- the work began and included installation of new concrete sidewalks and making the library's other entrance handicap accessible.
"Previously, the library only had one handicap-accessible entrance, so we now have improved accessibility to the building," said Barbara Rauch, library director. "No new doors were installed. The existing railing was removed and replaced with new railing."
Further, the contractor cleaned the gutters and removed vines from the front of the building.
"We are very grateful to the Clinton County Community Foundation for helping make these improvements possible," Rauch said.
