Dogwood Circle Garden Club's monthly Garden of the Month Award winners for September are Melissa and Jack Bottorf, 312 S. Fairview St., Lock Haven. With the intent of brightening the neighborhood and the enjoyment of working together, the couple have achieved colorful, neatly maintained, coordinated and pleasing curb appeal. Their main plants in the window boxes and large planters are coleus, marigolds, sweet potato vine, fern, celosia papyrus or corkscrew rush and trandescantia. Miniature junipers add height to the window boxes, which were inspired by a recent trip to Charleston, S.C. Photos are on the club's website www.lhgardenclub.com. Gardens are chosen for their natural elements, color, texture, design and neatness. October's judges are Cathy and Judy.
