-- The Central PA Civil War Round Table will meet for the annual joint meeting of the Central PA CWRT and the PSU George and Ann Richards Civil War Era Center. The joint meeting will take place in the Activities Room of the South Hills School of Business & Technology, 480 Waupelani Drive, State College, beginning at 7 p.m. The featured speakers are Timothy J. Williams, associate professor, Department of History, University of Oregon, and Mark and Ann Persun, visiting scholars, Richards Civil War Era Center, Penn State. They will speak on "Assembling the South's Lost Cause in Union Prisons."

-- Bellefonte Art Museum for Centre County celebrates the nation's 250th anniversary. The show is titled "This Land Is Your Land" and highlights the work of members of the Farmland Preservation Arts of Central Pennsylvania. The Museum, 133 N. Allegheny St., is open on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays from noon to 4:30 with a major gathering on the first Sunday of each month. The exhibit is on display in September and October.
