LOCK HAVEN -- The Lock Haven Fire Department recently recognized four Citizens Hose members with a Successful Resuscitation Citation following their response to an infant cardiac arrest on Aug. 21.

At approximately 12:20 p.m., Citizens Hose was dispatched for an infant in cardiac arrest. District Chief Eric Brungard, District Chief Sean Kleckner, Sgt. Cory Mitchell and Junior Firefighter Brad Brungard arrived on scene, confirmed the cardiac arrest and immediately began lifesaving measures.

According to LHFD, their actions were instrumental in restoring a life-sustaining heart rhythm.

The department presented the members with the citation in recognition of their actions and the successful resuscitation.

LHFD also emphasized that the recognition is not intended to diminish the efforts of the other responders involved, including law enforcement, EMS providers, hospital staff and others who played a role in the response and continued care.
