LOCK HAVEN -- The Alzheimer's and Caregivers' Support Group will meet Tuesday, Oct. 13, from 7 to 8 p.m., at Covenant United Methodist Church, 44 W. Main St., Lock Haven. There is convenient parking next to the church and a handicapped accessible entrance.
David Bellomo, senior community educator from Amerihealth Caritas PA, will be the guest speaker. His topic will be "Taking Care of the Caregiver."
Caregivers often neglect their own health in the demanding role of caregiver. His talk will focus on ways caregivers of family or others with memory loss diseases can be mindful of their own well-being so they can better serve the patient while preserving their own health.
Sitter service can be provided to the person with memory loss at the church while caregivers are attending the meeting. Prior arrangements must be made for this service.
