WILLIAMSPORT -- The Gift Shop at UPMC Williamsport Divine Providence Campus has donated $10,000 to Susquehanna Health Foundation to support patient care, medical education and grief services in the region.

"Our Gift Shop volunteers have a long history of supporting initiatives that benefit our patients and staff," said Sherry Watts, president, Susquehanna Health Foundation. "Their annual donations make a meaningful difference, and we are grateful for their generosity and continued commitment to our community."

A portion of every sale at Divine Providence Gift Shop helps fund the volunteers' philanthropic efforts.

This year, a portion of the donation will help purchase a portable ultrasound for UPMC Family Medicine Residency in Williamsport. The equipment will support patient care while giving residents additional opportunities to train with ultrasound technology.

The remaining funds will benefit Heartworks, a grief support program for children, teens and families who have experienced the death of a loved one. Heartworks is offered through UPMC Home Healthcare of Central Pennsylvania and Family Hospice.
