MILL HALL -- On the morning of Saturday, Oct. 10, 102 tractors of all sizes, makes and models, including harvesters and ATVs, took part in a special celebration of life parade honoring the late Paul Dotter.

Dotterer, the patriarch of the family who -- along with his wife -- and family members created Dotterer Dairy and, later, Dotterer Equipment.

"Paul's Last Right" began at the Farmer's Dotterer along state Route 64 in Mill Hall, bringing together members of the agriculture community to remember his life, legacy and contributions to local farming.

Those roots began in 1951 when he and his wife Jean, and step-father started a dairy farm with 15 cows on 157 acres of land.

From there, he and his brother, Lawrence, founded Dotterer Equipment in 1951. The company is an Allis-Chalmers dealership which is still open in Mill Hall.

The parade served as a fitting tribute to Dotter's lifelong connection to agriculture, bringing together the very equipment and farming community that helped shape his legacy.
